Example#2 - Gilmore Furniture / Lincoln Marquetry




This marquetry design was custom manufactured by Glimore to be included in a custom conference table for Lincoln Mutual Savings and Loan.

The design was programmed from an image on thier stock certificate that was aprox. 4". The image was 24" when complete and had 800 individual pieces.

We took great care to select material that had the best grain pattern to show detail in Lincoln's face. We also used sand shading and other methods to produce a 3-d affect in the flags.

What is Marquetry?

`mar-que-try` noun
decorative work in which elaborate patterns are formed by the insertion of pieces of material into a wood veneer that is then applied to a surface. (as of a piece of furniture)
